By Don and Petie Kladstrup. Broadway Books: New York, 2001.
This is an enjoyable account of France's wine producers and their place in the larger narrative of World War II. The things that they did to fool the Nazis into thinking horrible wine was their premier stock are ingenious and hilarious. Overall, it is highly anecdotal and, at times, hardly objective. But, in the end, it is a fun read, especially while traveling.
