For wine is a gift of God, but lack of restraint is an invention of the devil. - St. John Chrysostom

2006 Seven Hills Reisling
Has a nice palate of apple and floral notes, with a crisp mineral finish. With a light sweetness (not a lot of RS), it is very enjoyable and would be perfect for sipping on a hot summer afternoon. Moderate alcohol (12%). Drink now, but will also benefit from a year or two of age. Approx. $12. Tasted: by itself on 11/01/2007.
seriously, I know. I have about a dozen reviews written on small pieces of paper all over my desk. all that to say, I had a blast with you and troy. till next time!
Few things in life are as enjoyable as a great bottle of wine, served with wonderful food, and in the company of family and friends. This journal exists to chronicle the wines I drink, the wineries I visit, and the restaurants I dine at. And in the process, I hope to help further open up the world of wine to my readers.
The title of this journal is a play on my love for wine and patristics (the study of ancient Christianity). In recognition of the importance of tradition, the great councils of the early Church began their official formulations with the phrase 'following the holy fathers.' Thus, the title is my tribute to the ancient stewards of the Christian faith and the tradition of winemaking that makes possible the amazing experiences that unfold from a bottle.
